Aloe Vera & Vitamin E - A pure castille soap that is lightly scented. Aloe Vera and Vitamin E added to heal and soothe the skin – a great all-purpose soap.
Bee Pollen - Contains pure bee pollen – an abundant source of vitamins minerals proteins amino acids hormones and enzymes. A luxurious face and bath treatment for all skin types. There are so many good things in bee pollen. Our pollen comes from a local apiary. The pollen is collected from many orchards and farms as the beekeepers move the beehives around the surrounding countryside.
Carbolic - Natural scented anti-bacterial and mildly antiseptic soap. A very traditional type of soap that is recommended for acne and makes a great deodorant bar. Over the centuries a lot of lore has evolved surrounding Carbolic soap. We’ve had a customer tell us that they dissolve Carbolic soap shavings in hot water. Then spray the soap mixture over their lawn to get rid of those root-eating grubs. Some customers hang Carbolic bars from their fruit trees or stake them around vegetable patches to discourage unwanted browsers. In many parts of the world Carbolic soap is one of the few everyday symbols of European colonial times. We have been told that surgeons still scrub with carbolic soap in remote hospitals in India.
Chamomile - A soothing herbal treatment for oily skin. Naturally scented and contains real camomile flowers. We love the way the dried camomile flowers give the soap a peppery herbal aroma. It is excellent for oily skin and soothing damaged skin.
Creamy Clay - Fine Bentonite clay absorbs excess oil on the skin without drying; cleans and tones all skin types; all vegetable content. This is a great all-purpose bar. It is designed for normal to oily skin. The bentonite clay is supposed to absorb surface skin oil without excessively drying the skin. We believe that especially strong astringent soaps used on naturally oily skin clear away too much surface oil causing the skin to compensate by over producing more oil thereby exacerbating the problem.
Cucumber & Calendula - An all-vegetable soap containing cucumber a mild cleansing agent and skin toner and calendula high in flavonoids which accounts for much of its anti-inflammatory activity when treating minor skin abrasions. Every summer when local fresh cucumbers are available we buy bushels. We peel them and juice them. There is cucumber all over the place as we make gallons of cucumber juice. We add this juice to the soap bar along with the herb calendula. Both ingredients are designed to sooth skin.
Emu Oil - A deep penetrating natural emollient for softening and moisturizing skin. Naturally contains linoleic & oleic fatty acids and Vitamins E & A. For dry irritated or damaged skin – won’t clog pores. Emu oil is an excellent moisturizer. We enrich the bar with emu oil rather than convert the oil into soap. That way the emu oil is unchanged and its benefits are not lost or adulterated. We put in as much extra emu oil as the bar can take without becoming too soft to keep its shape. You feel the richness when you grasp the bar.
Evening Primose Oil - A face and body soap rich in amino acids and polyunsaturates. Recommended for treatment of dry skin. For many years we obtained our evening primrose oil from an aboriginal farming co-op. Unfortunately they were so good at what they did that they were bought by a big commercial producer. Evening Primrose oil is a good source of gamma linolenic fatty acids. These are rarer than the more plentiful linoleic fatty acids such as the one’s prevalent in olive oil. Linolenic fatty acids are purported to restore elasticity to older skin thereby reducing wrinkles and other signs of aging. Along with evening primrose oil other natural sources of gamma linolenics are borage oil and hemp seed oil. This soap is excellent for face and body.
Oatmeal - Gently abrasive complexion soap that is lightly scented – an all natural exfolliater. Oat flour is known for its unique properties in soothing sensitive and damaged skin. Oatmeal also makes an effective gentle exfoliant.
Olive Oil - A luxurious unscented all vegetable bar anointed with olive oil. Makes a great shaving bar Rich in linoleic fatty acids olive oil is revered for its skin softening properties. We super fat our soap by adding extra virgin olive oil.
Pine Tar - Pine organic essential oil is a traditional aid for treating seborrhea eczema scabies and psoriasis. Our pine essential oil is steam distilled from pine needles and twigs and is creosote free. We add a touch of peppermint essential oil for fragrance. This is an all vegetable soap.
Pumice - Contains finely ground pumice grit. Ideal for gardeners mechanics smokers. Gently removes calluses. We mix abrasive grit into a castille soap bar. It is an excellent way to clean dirty hands without the use of harsh cleansing agents. We sell it to print shops for the pressmen to clean their hands.
Sea Kelp - An all vegetable soap containing North Atlantic Kelp – one of Nature’s richest source of vitamins organic minerals and amino acids. Lightly scented and excellent for all skin types. We add dried North Atlantic sea kelp to this bar. People who have grown up near the ocean appreciate the value and richness found in sea kelp. This bar is excellent for face and body.
Shampoo & Conditioner - Specially formulated with aloe vera as a conditioner. Leaves hair “squeaky” clean. Contains no detergents. Very econmical and convenient for sports camping workout.
Shea Butter - a version of the famous Black Soap, originally from Africa, that incorporates shea butter and charred plantain skins. Shea butter is ideal for moisturizing the skin, while plantain acts as a gentle exfoliator. Formulated for sensitive skin and adult acne.
Tea Tree Oil - An all vegetable soap with famous Australian tea tree oil. Mildly astringent non-irritating antiseptic & anti-fungal. Excellent for shaving or shampoo. Our tea tree oil comes from a farmers co-op in Australia. It is strong stuff. We add as much as the soap bar can hold before becoming too soft to hold its shape. You can tell there is a lot of tea tree oil in our bar by just smelling it.
